Aloe Vera plant and my way to 100% Non-Toxic cosmetics.

Living in the desert, my skin required the use of moisturizers and other creams. I was using them 3-4 times a day for different parts of my body. My expenses were not small, about $400 every 3 month for high-end cosmetics. My husband is an engineer. One time he was working on a project to build a blast resistant building at the chemical plant that was producing some harsh chemicals. One day after safety meeting, he came home and mentioned the brand of cosmetics I was using (which I will not name for legal purposes) used ingredients made at that facility. The question popped in my mind:” Really? Am I putting the derivatives of harsh chemicals on my skin? Can there be another way such as with natural alternatives that are not harmful?”

The answer came so easily. ALOE VERA!!! Aloe Vera has been used by our ancestors for centuries for skin cuts, burns, rashes, minor sunburns, and cosmetics. It has been known as natural moisturizer. I found out that scientists have discovered over 100 nutritional ingredients in Aloe Vera:

*Aloe Vera contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and B12, A, C and E, and folic acid.

*Aloe Vera contains several minerals, such as: calcium, magnesium, zinc, manganese, chromium, selenium, copper, iron, potassium, phosphorus, and sodium.

*Another component of Aloe Vera consists of the lignin. Because of this component Aloe Vera can soak into the skin up to seven layers deep, being beneficial for skin problems.

Another constituent of Aloe Vera includes saponins. These are substances from the gel that is capable of cleansing and having antiseptic properties. The saponins perform strongly as anti-microbial against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and yeasts.

And we happened to have several Aloe plants in our garden growing without any pesticides used. Just rich soil, water, and sun. What a gold mine for my skin!!! From then on it became so easy. I just cut a slice of Aloe Vera, scraped jell from inside the leave and applied it to my skin any time I needed it. It moisturizes and nourishes my skin. And most importantly, it always makes me feel fresh, young, and beautiful! As for my husband, he is also happy with my transformation. On top of that, the family expense of $1600/year for my cosmetics went away! Win-win situation! :))
